Utilities’ digital transformation: a case study

Over recent years, utilities’ spending on digitalisation has increased dramatically as they have sought to make efficiency gains.

But a lack of transparency within organisations makes it hard to keep track of the large number of activities and prioritise the most promising initiatives. Clear processes are needed to highlight strategic priorities, define business goals and start conversations.

Energie Steiermark is one of Austria’s largest integrated utilities and AFRY has been supporting their digital transformation over the last two years. In this time Energie Steiermark has successfully implemented 120 initiatives, increased transparency across the business and even enabled the sharing of best practice with external partners.

In a webinar on 6 August 2020, Philipp Irschik joined Horst Dulle and Thomas Koller to talk about Energie Steiermark's experience of digitalisation, including:

  • their chosen approach;
